The infections of the skin and soft tissues, are one of the most frequent causes of consultations in health centers. Among the most common conditions are abscesses, these can be located almost anywhere on the body, although most of the time they are located in the extremities, armpits or buttocks.
The practice of drainage of abscesses is indicated when they exceed 5 mm in diameter and are not located in places where they can be an aesthetic problem. Sterile equipment should always be used , and there should not be contact with body fluids, therefore always gloves and chinstrap should be worn .
