We at Bright Side thought we knew everything about our favorite movies. But when we stumbled on the story about the real gangsters who appear in The Godfather, we realized that there was a lot more to find out.
So we decided to put together some little-known facts about famous movies to share with you. Now you’ll know everything there is to know as well.
No Country for Old Men / Married…with Children

The same edition of a newspaper has been appearing on our screens for 40 years now. Here you can see it in the TV show Married…with Children which first aired in 1987 and in the 2007 movie No Country for Old Men.
The Godfather

Many of those who took part in the crowd shots during the shooting of the wedding scene with Don Corleone in The Godfather were actually really gangsters and their relatives. This was one of the first movies to shine a light on the internal world of America’s mafia clans, and, moreover, it was the first to be “blessed” by some of their most influential figures – many gangsters wanted to take part in the filming.
The Silence of the Lambs

Anthony Hopkins, who won an Oscar for his role in The Silence of the Lambs, appears on screen during the movie for only 16 minutes. And yes, despite the widespread claim, Hannibal Lecter does in fact blink during this time.
The Devil’s Advocate

The boxing match that Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves watch during this movie was real. The match, which was for the title of world champion, starred Roy Jones, Jr. and took place in New York on October 4th, 1996. Jones beat Bryant Brannon in the second round.
Police Academy

After the release of Police Academy, the name “Tackleberry” became widespread. In the USA, law enforcement agencies use the term to describe employees who love to take part in gunfights and use their sidearms at the first opportunity.
Forrest Gump

As is well known, the plot of Forrest Gump begins during the hero’s childhood. During the course of the movie, we see him as a child, a teenager, and an adult. At the start of every new phase of the movie, we see him wearing a blue checkered shirt. Forrest’s son is dressed in the same shirt at the end of the movie.

The Shining / Toy Story

The carpet in front of Sid’s room in the animated movie Toy Story is exactly the same as the carpet in one of the hallways of the hotel in The Shining. It’s the very same hallway along which Jack Nicholson tries to kill his wife and son with an ax.
The poster from The Silence of the Lambs

Everyone knows that on the poster for The Silence of the Lambs there’s a butterfly with a skull depicted on its back. But few people have ever noticed that this skull itself is made up of images of at least three naked women.
Titanic
The famous portrait of Rose that Jack draws in the movie Titanic was actually made by James Cameron, as were the other images in Jack’s album.

Despite the common belief, James Cameron might have partially based the main love line in Titanic on the lives of people who were actually onboard. There were not that many people who survived, but Jack Thayer Jr. was one of them. He is believed to be the prototype of the movie character Jack Dawson, skilfully performed by Leonardo DiCaprio. Unlike Jack in the movie, Thayer was a first-class passenger and, according to some sources, had an affair with a young actress who was also onboard.
Scream / The Scream by Edvard Munch

The famous horror movie Scream owes its name to the painting of the same name by Edvard Munch. Moreover, the masks that the killers wear are almost an exact copy of the figure in the famous painting.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Real mental patients living in a mental hospital were used for certain scenes in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
Terminator

The actress Linda Hamilton, who played Sarah Connor, has an identical twin sister, Leslie. In the scene where the T1000 takes on Sarah’s appearance, the performance was given by Linda’s sister. There’s also a scene using mirrors in which her sister took part.
Pulp Fiction
