Judge Finds Reality TV Stars Todd And Julie Chrisley Gu!lty Of More Than $30M In Fraud

Popular reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley have found themselves at the center of a massive lawsuit. Now the TV couple has been found gu!lty by a federal judge of more than $30 million in fraud.

The couple is known for starring in the USA Network show Chrisley Knows Best. However … that’s clearly not the case. The stars face up to 30 years in pris0n for their cr!mes.

The pair has been found gu!lty of defrauding Atlanta-area banks of more than $30 million over a number of years.

According to a press release from the US Department of Justice, Todd and Julie Chrisley received fraudulent loans by lying. They were also found gu!lty of tax evasion and conspiring to defraud the IRS.

Lawyer Bruce Morris told People that his clients are “disappointed in the verdict.” He also says they plan to appeal it.

The Chrisleys’ other lawyer, Steve Friedberg, told the outlet, “Both Chrisleys are dev*stated and disappointed with the verdict and will be pursuing an appeal. Julie and Todd are so grateful for the love and support shown by their family, friends and fans.”

He continued, “They both remain strong in their faith and will continue the ‘f!ght’ until they are vindicated. They have their priorities in order and are currently concentrating on the welfare of their children and Todd’s mother, Elizabeth Faye Chrisley.”

While the couple seems set on appealing, it seems unlikely that they will be successful. Atlanta’s WSB-TV reported that they created false documents to secure $30 million in bank loans that were only to pay for their lavish lifestyles. Then they filed bankruptcy so they wouldn’t have to pay back the millions they owed.

Prosecutors say the Chrisleys swindled small banks for years. From 2007 to around 2012, they wracked up about $30 million in debt.

Their reality show debuted in 2014. The show has been hugely successful and is in its ninth season, which is scheduled to return June 23. The show has been renewed for a 10th season.
