What Amber from “My 600-lb life” looks like after 420 pound weight loss

When a person has an addiction, whether it be food or drugs, there are often underlying issues like abuse, anxiety, and/or depression that causes the addiction.

Despite what some people who’ve never had to struggle with these issues might say, overcoming addiction isn’t always easy.

Amber Rachdi is proof that when people believe that changing their life is possible, they can make it happen when they make an effort to do so.
Rachdi suffered from an anxiety disorder that caused her to overeat and gain weight.

That combined with a lack of exercised cause her to balloon up to 657 pounds.

Since then Rachadi has lost more than 400 pounds and is inspiring thousands of people to live a life that makes them feel happy and healthy.
Rachdi says she was very unhappy at such a heavyweight.

She was unable to perform basic tasks on her own.

This caused her to lose independence and have to rely on others to help her do things.
She was only able to stand on her legs for about 30 minutes at a time.

This lack of mobility is what caused her to inquire about how she could change her life.

Rachdi’s weight loss journey was featured on the TLC TV show “My 600-Lb Life.”
Rachdi opted to have gastric bypass surgery but she first had to lose 20 lbs in order to be eligible for surgery.

It was no easy task since Rachdi has had a history of food and weight-related issues.

She weighed more than 150 pounds by the time she was just 5-years-old.
But she did lose that weight so she could have the surgery.

She is also seeing a therapist so she could deal with her anxiety and anger.

Rachdi ended up losing about 420 pounds.
This has allowed her to regain her independence again. She can walk and even drive.

Rachdi is now an inspiration to thousands of people on the internet.
